Chapter Thirteen: Seven Invitations.

The invitations did not arrive by accident.
Neither did they arrive by miracle.
They arrived quietly, one after another, through ordinary emails, confidential letters, official telephone calls and carefully arranged introductions.
Each appeared perfectly natural.
Each had been crafted around the deepest ambitions, fears, desires or circumstances of the person receiving it.
Invisible to mankind, the kingdom of darkness had spent years preparing every detail.
Seven strangers.
Seven different lives.
One destination.
California.

Daniel Harwood had become one of Britain's youngest and most respected corporate executives.
Newspapers sought his opinion. Business magazines praised his leadership. Under his direction, the company had expanded across Europe, making him one of the country's most recognisable businessmen.
Outwardly, he possessed everything.
Money.
Influence.
Success.
Inwardly, he remained haunted.
His mother's death from cancer had destroyed whatever faith he had once possessed. Church members had spoken of God's perfect plan.
Daniel had heard only silence.
Since then, work had become his refuge.
If God existed...
Daniel wanted nothing to do with Him.
One Monday morning his secretary entered carrying a sealed envelope.
"Marked confidential."
He barely looked up.
Another conference.
Another invitation.
Then he noticed the heading.
DISCLOSURE
A private international summit concerning the origins of mankind and emerging evidence of non-human intelligence.
His curiosity stirred.
Another line caught his attention.
Selected attendees include leading business innovators capable of guiding humanity through a new global era.
Daniel leaned back.
"So..."
"They finally think they've found proof."
A faint smile crossed his face.
"If they're right..."
"...religion is finished."
He pressed the intercom.
"I'm attending."
Far above, unseen by human eyes...
Archdan quietly watched.

Tim Lawson had built his reputation exposing the truth.
His investigations uncovered corruption. His documentaries earned international awards. Governments disliked him.
The public trusted him.
When his editor placed a sealed envelope on his desk, Tim opened it immediately.
"Exclusive access..." he read aloud.
"...to the world's most classified scientific announcement."
His editor smiled.
"They specifically requested you."
Tim looked up.
"Why me?"
"They wanted someone known for asking difficult questions."
Tim laughed.
"Finally."
Before finishing the letter, he accepted.
If history was about to change...
he intended to report every word.

Bobby Morgan never imagined he would escape poverty.
His father had worked himself almost to exhaustion simply to provide for the family. Bobby left school early to help pay the bills, and hard work became the foundation of his life.
Years later, he managed one of Britain's largest logistics companies.
Promotion followed promotion.
Success followed success.
But somewhere along the journey, success had changed him.
Recognition had become addictive.
His managing director called personally.
"Bobby."
"We've been invited to represent British industry."
"You've earned it."
Pride swelled within him.
Finally...
the recognition he believed he deserved.
Without hesitation...
he accepted.

Rachel Williams almost missed her invitation.
By then, her life had changed completely.
Years of addiction had left behind broken relationships, homelessness, shame and regret.
At the centre of it all had been Toni.
The man she believed she loved.
The man who slowly led her into darkness before disappearing when everything collapsed.
For months, Rachel believed God could never forgive someone like her.
Then, one rainy evening, she wandered into a small church simply because its doors were open.
No one questioned her.
No one judged her.
Instead, they welcomed her.
They spoke of Jesus Christ, not as someone waiting to condemn her, but as the One who had already given His life to save her.
That night Rachel surrendered her life to Christ.
Recovery was slow.
Some days victory came easily.
Others felt impossible.
But she no longer walked alone.
The very moment she placed her faith in Christ, another unseen figure appeared beside her.
Archrac.
Invisible.
Faithful.
Always watching.
Weeks later, the invitation arrived.

Rachel hesitated.
Her pastor smiled gently.
"Perhaps God has opened this door."
She prayed.
Then accepted.
Archrac remained silently beside her.

Dr Cathy Reynolds had become the world's leading authority on alleged extraterrestrial encounters.
Governments consulted her.
Universities invited her to lecture.
Television producers competed for interviews.
Her supposed alien abduction had transformed her into an international celebrity.
She sincerely believed intelligent beings from another world had contacted her.
She had devoted her life to preparing humanity for their return.
The invitation barely surprised her.
The world's greatest conference on extraterrestrial disclosure...
without her?
Impossible.
She smiled confidently.
"The world..."
"...is finally ready."
Nearby, unseen by human eyes...
Archca lowered her head.
Not in judgement.
But in sorrow.

Sidney Carter had become one of Britain's biggest online personalities.
Millions followed every video he released.
His astonishing lottery win years earlier had only increased his popularity.
To this day, he insisted supernatural signs had guided him to the winning numbers.
Some believed him.
Others laughed.
Sidney never cared which.
The invitation described him as:
A modern voice capable of influencing the next generation.
His first thought was not truth.
It was audience figures.
"This..."
He laughed.
"...will break the internet."
He accepted immediately.

Tom Harrison received no invitation.
He received instructions.
A black envelope waited inside his apartment.
No stamp.
No return address.
Inside lay a single sheet of paper.
California.
Flight Airbus 0718.
Collect your ticket.
Carry the package.
Ask no questions.
Tom's stomach tightened.
He already knew who had sent it.
The men to whom he owed everything.
And everything meant his life.
Minutes later another message appeared.
Fail...
...and your parents discover who you really are.
Tom closed his eyes.
His respectable career...
his wealthy family...
his carefully constructed lies...
would disappear overnight.
He looked at the sealed package resting on the kitchen table.
He never asked what it contained.
Fear had replaced curiosity years ago.
Quietly...
he picked it up.
